Data and privacy, answered

1. What does FitNotes store?
What you enter: active and completed workouts and History, exercises, sets, weight, repetitions, duration, distance, notes, RPE or reps in reserve, workout timing and relevant rest state; Personal Plan names, exercise order and target values; custom exercises and Favorites; settings and preferences; and manual height, body-weight measurements and their timestamps. BMI is calculated locally from current height and recorded weight rather than stored as an independent collected value.
A raw pre-migration workout copy may remain as an internal migration safeguard. It is not a rolling backup, user backup or guaranteed recovery service.
2. Where is it stored?
In the app's own storage area on your device, using the operating system's standard app storage. App-owned fitness records and preferences are local.
3. Does it leave my phone?
Not automatically. FitNotes has no account, cloud sync or backend that receives workout, plan, body or settings data, and it does not automatically upload those records to Kelbria.
When you choose Export data, FitNotes creates CSV files locally and opens the iOS sharing interface. Data leaves FitNotes only if you choose a destination such as Files, Mail, AirDrop or another application or service. Send Feedback and Request a Feature open your e-mail handler without automatically attaching fitness, diagnostic or device data; you choose what to send. Public legal and support pages also open only when you select their links.
4. Does FitNotes require an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-in, no password and no profile. You open the app and start logging.
5. Does FitNotes use analytics?
No. There is no analytics software in the app, and no usage events are recorded or sent. We do not know how many workouts you log, or whether you opened the app today.
6. Does FitNotes track me?
No. Apple defines tracking as linking data from this app with data from other companies for advertising or measurement, or sharing it with a data broker. The app does none of that, and never reads the advertising identifier. That is why it does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt — an app that does not track should not be asking.
7. Does FitNotes use advertising?
No. There are no ads, no advertising SDK and no attribution SDK. The app is free and has no in-app purchases or subscription.
8. Does FitNotes use AI?
No. FitNotes does not currently send your workout data to an AI service, and contains no AI or machine-learning feature. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here and in the privacy policy before the feature is switched on.
9. Does FitNotes use cloud storage?
No. There is no FitNotes cloud storage, sync or online backup service, and no automatic upload. The current local storage is excluded from iOS backup by default, so do not rely on iCloud or a device backup to restore FitNotes data. Kelbria has no access to your device backups.
10. Which third-party services are involved?
For automatic processing of your FitNotes fitness data on Kelbria's behalf: none. The Expo and React Native frameworks, navigation and animation packages, and local storage library used for core functions run on the device rather than acting as hosted services that receive those records.
If you enable rest-complete notifications, FitNotes asks iOS for notification permission and schedules the alert locally on your phone. It does not use a remote push provider or send Kelbria a push token, notification content or workout data. Denying permission does not stop the in-app rest timer.
If you send support, feedback or feature-request e-mail, that message travels through our mail provider. If you share a CSV, the copy goes to the destination you independently selected. Both are explicit user actions and are separate from automatic app processing.
11. How do I delete FitNotes data?
Use Delete All App Data in Settings for a complete app-owned local reset. After two confirmations, it removes workouts and History, active-workout recovery, plans, custom and favorite exercise state, Body & Progress, settings and preferences, rest state, local recovery or legacy data and FitNotes-owned export cache files.
The in-app notification preference resets, but iOS notification authorisation remains controlled in iOS Settings. Delete All cannot erase CSV files already saved or shared elsewhere, e-mail messages you sent, copies in other applications, website request logs or support correspondence.
- Individual delete controls remain available for supported workout, body and exercise records.
- Some custom exercises cannot be deleted while referenced and can be archived instead.
12. What happens if I uninstall the app?
Deleting the app removes its local container. Offloading is different from deleting. FitNotes has no server copy and does not promise recovery after reinstalling; its current local storage is excluded from iOS backup by default.
Before Delete All, uninstalling or resetting FitNotes, use Export data if you want a portable CSV copy. CSV import is not implemented, so that export cannot restore records into FitNotes. Copies already saved or shared outside the app remain where you put them.
13. How do I contact Kelbria?
Kelbria is a brand of DEPIBIO SRL, a company registered in Romania. E-mail reaches a person, not a ticketing system.
